After posting some Twitter comments in which she showed her support for a far-right party and mocked the African immigrants,
Voula Papachrstou was expelled from
Greece`s Olympic team on Wednesday.
The triple jumper made some “statements contrary to the values and ideas of the Olympic movement”, said the
Hellenic Olympic Committee in regard to Papachristou`s situation.
"It's the same as violating fair play. We are not here just to get medals, but to promote the Olympic ideals, to show our character," said
Isidoros Kouvelos, head of Greece`s Olympic mission.
