TNA Slammiversary 2012 review
The TNA slammiversary 2012 was practically the largest Pay-Per-View event in the company`s history, featuring important fights like: Bobby Roode vs. Sting, Christopher Daniels and Kazarian vs. A.J. Styles and Kurt Angle or Bully Ray vs. Joseph Park among many others. The show was hosted in its biggest part by the former six times WWE Heavyweight Champion and TNA General Manager, Hulk Hogan, who announced the fight between Austin Aries and Samoa Joe in the X-Division Championship. Both the fight and Hogan`s appearance were two major hits for the event.
Aries defeated Joe in a fight that really heated up the crowd, setting up one of the biggest PPV events in the TNA history. The most important fight of the tournament was between Bobby Roode and Sting. The two TNA stars fought for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. After defeating Roode on May 24 with the Scorpion Deathlock, Sting repeated this performance and won the Heavyweight title. Mr. Anderson, Rob Van Dam and Jeff Hardy fought in a Three Way match that gave them the opportunity to fight the Slammiversary champion. Mr. Anderson won the fight and the #1 contender spot.
The Slammiversary 2012 event, which took place in the College Park Center in Arlington, Texas, was a total success, receiving only positive responds. Matt Bishop rated the event with a 10 out of 10 note, saying that this was one of the best pay-per-views in the company`s recent history. Two fights received a 9 out of 10 rate: the TNA X Division Title fight between Austin Aries and Samoa Joe and the AJ Styles and Kurt Angle versus Kazarian and Christopher Daniels fight for the TNA World Tag Team Titles.
The crowd which attended the University of Texas was really happy with the event, screaming the name of the promoting company on their way out of the arena.
